Here you will find information about the Office of Radio & Television's radio programs and have the opportunity to listen to selected radio programs. Many of the Office of Radio & Television's radio programs are broadcast on the Archdiocese of Hartford's radio station WJMJ-FM (88.9 Hartford, 93.1 Hamden, and 107.1 New Haven). About Our Radio ProgramsBishop's Corner is a weekly, 5-minute pastoral message given by Auxiliary Bishop Peter A. Rosazza of the Archdiocese of Hartford. The bishop shares his views on various subjects dealing with Catholic and Christian faith, ranging from social and spiritual concerns, to the history of the Catholic Church. Bishop's Corner is produced by the Office of Radio & Television and is broadcast Sunday on WAVZ-AM at 10:30 a.m. and on WJMJ-FM each Wednesday afternoon at 2:05 p.m.Catholic Radio Weekly is a weekly, half-hour news and information program hosted by Fr. John P. Gatzak. It examines top headlines and moral and ethical issues of the week that affect the Catholic church. It is produced by the Office of Radio & Television in cooperation with the Catholic Communication Campaign and is broadcast exclusively on WJMJ-FM each Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. and every Sunday morning at 11 a.m. The Celebration of the Eucharist "Sunday Mass," the audio portion of the Sunday television Mass, is broadcast on WJMJ-FM each Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Close Up on Faith is a weekly, half-hour program hosted by Fr. John Gatzak that looks behind the scenes at the Vatican, including the latest news on Pope Benedict XVI and focuses on the moral and ethical issues concerning the Catholic Church today. Close Up on Faith is produced in cooperation with Vatican Radio and is broadcast Sunday on WJMJ-FM at 9 a.m. Rear-View Perspective is a weekly, half-hour program hosted by Fr. John Gatzak ....Rear-View Perspective is produced by the Office of Radio & Television and is broadcast on WJMJ-FM each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Sabbath Message is a weekly, 10-minute inspirational message given by Fr. John Gatzak that applies the Gospel teachings to our life circumstances today. Sabbath Message is produced in cooperation with WTIC-AM 1080 and is broadcast on WTIC-AM each Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. SonRise Magazine is a weekly, half-hour program hosted by Fr. John Gatzak. Using a mix of commentary and inspirational music selections, Fr. John looks at and expands on the Sunday Gospel reading to bring out the message of the Gospel and apply it to today. Included in the program is a brief news update of the headlines and happenings relating to the Catholic Church during the past week. SonRise Magazine is produced by the Office of Radio & Television and broadcast exclusively on WJMJ-FM each Sunday morning at 8 a.m. |
